World’s Largest ICT Event 

The 26th World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) was held in Penang, Malaysia, on September 13–15, 2022. WCIT 2022 Malaysia was organized by PIKOM, strategically enabled by MDEC, and supported by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia.  

Aimed to give international scholars and professionals a platform to express their ideas and knowledge in a dynamic way, the event was split into four stages including business forums, roundtable discussions, interactive panels, and keynote speakers. The topics centered around innovative technologies such as NFTs, Smart City development, SpaceTech, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, 5G, and EduTech.

WCIT’s goal was to generate leads on their landing page by boosting event awareness through visual communications design and specialized email marketing 


Powerful EDM Marketing 

To assist WCIT with their online presence, we developed a comprehensive and effective digital strategy that matches the event’s objective of providing a revolutionary digital experience. elfo adopted an Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) marketing strategy where we produced 25 different email newsletters for WCIT’s event marketing which were delivered to a large group of their intended audience. This method enabled them to create and nurture relations with users while offering high-quality, relevant content. 

To reach their global target audience, we also supported WCIT in advertising their event information and insights on a few free event websites, including Eventbrite, Event Seeker, and  

In addition, elfo helped with driving traffic to the landing page. We created a landing page for WCIT 2022 Malaysia that included the event’s background, agenda, speakers, etc. In order to maximize the marketing performance, we employed A/B testing to determine which design or copywriting version performed better. This strategy assisted us in making smarter and strategic decisions for WCIT’s future EDM marketing campaigns.
